The Confederation of European Matitime Technology Societies is governed by a Council of representatives of each constituent society. The Chairman of the Council is a senior member of a constituent society, elected by the Council, and serves for a period of two years. The Council meets twice a year, and is served by a permanent Secretary. CEMT is registered as an independent foundation, and is funded solely by its members.

Non Government Organisation (NGO) Status

CEMT has Non Government Organisation (NGO) status with the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR).
