The Confederation of European Maritime Technology Societies has Non Government Organization (NGO) consultative status with the UN Economic Commission for Europe, and is represented on the Working Party on Inland Water Transport by ATENA.

The Confederation of European Maritime Technology Societies has Non Government Organization (NGO) status with the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR)and is represented on the European Committee for Standards in Inland Navigation (CESNI) by ATENA.

WATERBORNE TP is an industry-oriented Technology Platform to establish a continuous dialogue between all waterborne stakeholders, such as classification societies, shipbuilders, shipowners, maritime equipment manufacturers, infrastructure and service providers, universities or research institutes, and with the EU Institutions, including Member States.
CEMT is represented on Waterborne by KORAB (Poland) and HIMT (Greece).

CEMT member Society, the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, hasNGO Status with the International Maritime Organisation and has undertaken to represent CEMT at the IMO. CEMT member Societies are invited to contact them with regard to current or future activities. Individual members of CEMT member societies should contact through their own Society.
