The members of CEMT are professional institutions and learned societies whose Headquarters are in Europe, and whose members are involved in the field of maritime technology.
The Confederation is governed by a Council of representatives of each constituent society. The Chairman of the Council is a senior member of a constituent society, elected by the Council, and serves for a period of two years. The Council meets twice a year, and is served by a permanent Secretary.
CEMT is registered as an independent foundation in the Netherlands, and is funded solely by its members.
