Krzysztof Gockowski Poland

I am a graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology, where I was
granted an engineer diploma of the specialization Ship and Ocean Engineering Object Power Plants. After finishing the studies I started the work in the Design Division of Centrum Techniki Okrętowej S.A. in Gdańsk where I worked as a designer.

I started as a technical assistant. I was promoted to a position of a designer’s assistant and finally I  worked as an independent designer. I took part in design work at conceptual, technical and working design stage within the scope of the selection of equipment and design of systems being part of engine rooms, coordination of piping course in engine rooms and piping
course outside engine rooms.

The biggest challenge and success during my carrier in CTO  was project of fuel supply units and further supervision during their construction. I worked on developing concepts of modular equipment of ships’ engine rooms. I am Co-author of Preventive Reservation „Frame for modular ships’ equipment of engine room, particularly in case of ships with roll on-roll off cargo
handling systems” Submission codeU1 113999  Submission date 18-03-2003

Apart from the above, I took part in design work of a logistic support ship, which was built in the Northern Shipyard. I worked on multipurpose corvette being built in Naval Shipyard Gdynia S.A.

During this projects I collaboration on various military Research and Develop Centres.  I took part in work on projects implemented within the framework of the Framework Programmes of the European Union and Transregional Cooperation, which were related with the development of new cargo handling systems as well as application  of modular technologies during the ship’s construction.

My work in CTO S.A. covered also work on conceptual and technical designs of systems applied in land devices operation, e.g. fuel supply for container land power plants, and testing equipment e.g cavitations tunnel for Vietnam. My duties also included tutoring during trainings in design of general ship systems. These trainings were carried out in Poland and Vietnam I have been working In CTO S.A. for 8 years, after this period I started work  in classification society Det Norske Veritas Poland Sp. z o.o. in section Nauticus Modeling Centre / Central Unit. I worked in a naval architect and I was involved  in  support approval and classification process. I worked in Poland and Head Quarter Hovik in Norway. I took part in tutoring during trainings in DNV software. These trainings were carried out in Poland and India.

Currently I work in Brevik Engineering Poland Sp. z o. o. (Nobel Denton Group), where  I have position of independent designer. I am dealing with design work for various type supply vessel for offshore construction.

I am a member of The Society of Polish Naval Architects and Marine Engineers “KORAB” since 2001 year. I am a post of a secretary in the Board of Gdańsk Region

During my work In CTO S.A. and DNV I participated in various symposiums and conferences either as a spectator or as a lecture. I have a few publication and articles.
