CONCERNING MEMBER ORGANISATIONS

Exchange of technical articles between associations for publication in their respective publications and magazines.

Publish papers of distinction written by members of our associations, possibly in connection with presenting an award to the writer(s) of the best paper.
Exchange of information on educational systems and employment issues.
Facilitate mobility of marine technologists, e.g. by assisting in the recognition process of professional certificates.

The organization of high level bi- or tri-annual conferences around important maritime themes with presentations given primarily by members of the member associations. One of the member institutes should take the lead with regard to such conferences, assisted by the other members. This should put CEMT and the member associations in the limelight and the presentations should present useful information to the members and the maritime interested public in general.

Publication of short items on specific CEMT activities in the publications and magazines of member associations.

Organization of visits and excursions, possibly in conjunction with seminars, for limited groups of interested experts to important and revolutionary maritime projects.

Strengthen ties with Directorate-Generals and departments of the E.U. Commission in Brussels on maritime subjects, such as those covering Training and Education, Marine Research and Development and Maritime Safety and Environment.

Participate with experts from member societies in the work of MIF (Maritime Industries Forum) and its ad-hoc working groups.

Introduction of a CEMT Award to be granted to a person or organisation in recognition of an outstanding achievement in favour of the position of marine technologists in Europe. Such an award could e.g. be presented at the CEMT Conference, as referred to above.

Make publications of our member associations available for articles on European maritime subjects, not only covering technical subjects, but also for economic and general problems as felt and presented by associations of ship owners, shipbuilders, associated industries, employees representations and when relevant, politicians.
